Fear 2

Fear 2

I have gotten some great feedback from people who have shared their battle with fear. Thank you for your openness.

So, how are you the rest of doing on working to overcome your fear? If you are completely honest, the answer would be anything from “struggling” to “not so well”

Why is that, you may ask? The answer is pretty simple. We live in what I call a microwave society. Everything is 30 seconds or less. And, when we don’t see the results we desire – we start beating ourselves up. Or, even worse, we throw in the towel altogether.

That is exactly why I have opted for Part 2 on Fear.

Carrie Wilkerson, The Barefoot Executive says, “Often times we are not really afraid of what we can become – we are thoroughly convinced about who we are right now.”

If you were running a race with your fear, you would not have to run twice as fast to win. You simply would have to run just a tad bit faster…or do just a little more.

“It’s hard,” you say.

I say, “Hey, it’s a decision. If you are content with where you are and feel that in 10 or 15 years and have no regrets – then fine – remain a slave to your fear”

But, if you are committed to change, to improve, to achieve more, accomplish more, be more – then face that fear. Tackle it head on

John Maxwell says that when you die, people are going to stand at your funeral and describe you in one sentence. You may as well pick what that sentence will be now.

You want to overcome your fear? Follow your heart. You see, your mind will often trick you, but your heart seeks the truth.

If you live on the fringe of fear, your comfort zone will stretch.

Stretch – tackle – overcome – experience life as you never have before.

Until next week………………

Fear

Fear
Fear can be a tremendously huge thing to overcome. Not to mention sometimes those fears are actually real.

Is fear holding you back from reaching your dream or goal?

Look at this example:

You Fear Goal

Notice something? Yes, your fear is actually closer to your goal than you are.

Some people have defined fear as False Evidence Appearing Real. Others have put a more spiritual spin on it and said that Faith is from God and Fear is from the devil.

So what is fear? Fear is that barrier (either real or imaginary) that we erect between ourselves and our goal. Fear is as large as we allow our minds to make it.

Fear is the enemy of self-confidence.

The 6 basic fears are: 1) fear of criticism; 2) fear of ill health; 3) fear of poverty; 4) fear of old age; 5) fear of the loss of love of someone; 6) fear of death.

Fear is a self imposed prison that keeps you from becoming what God intends you to be.

So how do we overcome fear?

In order to overcome fear, one needs an IRA. No, not an investment IRA.

Your reason why must be bigger than your fear. If your fear is larger than your dream or goal – then you need to get a bigger goal or dream.

Remember: Fear is nothing more than worry, all grown up.

Go forth this week my friends – and attack your fear.
