We begin this week’s blog with another timeless Christmas Song, “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.”

Do you know the important people coming to your town? 

Of course, I am NOT referring to Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga. 

As a person on the grow, you should be aware of personal development speakers, authors and such - that speak at motivational conferences, Chamber of Commerce events and business functions.  When someone in the personal development, self help, and motivational field comes to your area – get tickets asap.  Change your schedule so you can be around the people who have the fruit on the tree.

Your mood is a decision.  YOU choose to be up or down.
Santa Claus is coming to town

Yes, he’s coming to town.  That’s exciting.  Have you shared with business colleagues and friends when someone great is coming to your town to speak?

He's making a list

Lists are a great thing to make, especially with so much info that shoots through the ears.  It is impossible to keep your schedule, tasks, goals and events in your head.  Use a PDA, planner, or calendar.  And write out each day what you want to accomplish.

And checking it twice;

Check your planner, calendar and list often.  Celebrate all that you accomplish before lunch or at the end of the day.

Also, in the category of checking things twice……  If you are in sales, remember to make those “follow up” phone calls.

Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice

Santa keeps track of who is dissing him and who is kissing him.  The lesson here is to be nice to everyone – even those that are difficult people.

Remember, it is ALWAYS that one piece of info you do not know about a person – that makes all the difference in the world.

Also – bridges that are burned are hard to re-cross.  It takes a lot of time to pave a road vs. just patching a pothole.  If you are in the midst of an issue with someone – PATCH IT UP before it becomes a deep crevice.

Okay, I am with author John Lynch (co-author of Truefaced) on this one – that’s kind of creepy.

But, another way to view this is – does your competition know when you are sleeping?  Do they know when you are NOT working your business?

Putting off projects in December because:

• Christmas is coming
• I will wait til the first of the year

is simply NOT good business sense and allows your competition to gain on you.

In personal development – it is better to hit January 1st while you are already in motion rather than starting fresh out of the gate.

He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

Always, always, always be working on improving you.
