Mirror Mirror

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

When you look in the mirror, what do you see?

The obvious answer is a reflection.  But I am looking at the question much deeper than that.  As you look straight at that image in the mirror, eyeball to eyeball, what do you see?

Do you see flaws?  Perhaps you see pock marks or rugged face marks.  Maybe you see imperfections in the nose, mouth or lips.  Possibly you see a receding hair line.

Do you see potential?

Do you see success?

Do you see your own greatness?

Maybe I should back up a step and ask if you even like what you see?

For some people, looking at themselves in a mirror is difficult because they are not comfortable with the way they look.  For others, looking at themselves in the mirror reveals deep character flaws.

Looking in the mirror can be painful to some people.  Painful to the degree that some folks just sort of glaze over when they look in the mirror…not wanting to see reality – so they just stare at a vague image.

It’s interesting – but some people, when looking in the mirror, only see weaknesses, guilt, short-comings, problems and issues.
Try this……  Take a few moments, go to your mirror and say something uplifting and positive to the person you are looking at.

Go ahead – look the person straight in the mirror and tell them with sincerity, “You are a winner!  I believe in you!  You are successful!”

How does that feel?

A little awkward, maybe?

If you do it daily (or every time you pass a mirror) you will be amazed at how your opinion of you changes.

Remember, no sarcasm, just sincerity.

Keep me posted on how that feels as you develop a greater and greater belief and confidence in yourself.

Have a great week.
